  • Best Practices for Bostik Simson ISR 70-03 w/ 70-03A

    *See Terms of Use Below

    1. Surface Preparation

70-03A adheres well without primer on clean, dry, dust and grease free substrates of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder coated metal, most lacquered metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP & FRP), painted and lacquered wood, etc. No adhesion on untreated polyethylene, polypropylene and PTFE.

    2. Application

Simson ISR 70-03 can easily be extruded with a hand- or air-pressure gun at temperatures between 45°F and 100°F (5°C and 35°C). In sealing applications Simson ISR 70-03 should be tooled or smoothened within 10 minutes (at 20°C/50% R.H.) with a spatula or putty knife, occasionally moistened with a soap solution. Avoid soap solution penetrating between joint sides and sealant, which will result in loss of adhesion. In bonding applications, the substrates have to be assembled within 15 minutes (at 20°C/50% R.H.) after applying Simson ISR 70-03. In general an adhesive thickness of 0.062-in. or 1/16-in. (2 mm) is recommended.

    3. Clean-Up

Cleaning tools or removing uncured residue of Bostik® 70-03A / Simson ISR 70-03 can be done with a clean white/colorless cloth, moistened with IPA (Isopropyl alcohol). Check substrate compatibility with IPA (Isopropyl alcohol) before proceeding.
