    One-part, RTV silicone sealant, low odor, neutral cure, will not corrode substrates, superior oil resistance, as well as coolants and lubricants, cures to a tough rubbery solid.

    Shelf Life Details When stored at or below 90°F (32°C), Dow Corning 735 Oil Resistant Sealant has a useable life of 12 months from the date of manufacture. For best results, use completely within 6 months of opening., Since this material cures by reaction with moisture in the air, keep the container tightly sealed when not in use. A plug of cured material may form in the tip of the tube during storage, but is easily removed and does not affect the remaining contents.

  • Best Practices for Dow 735 Oil Resistant Sealant

    1. Surface Preparation

      Surfaces to be bonded or sealed must be free of dirt, oil and other contaminants.

    2. Application

      Apply Dow Corning 735 Oil Resistant Sealant to the prepared surface in a continuous, uniform thickness. If this adhesive/sealant is to be used between two surfaces, apply to one surface and allow it to establish uniform contact before putting the other surface in place. When placing the second surface, use enough pressure to displace the adhesive/sealant.

    3. Curing

      Let the unit stand undisturbed at room temperature until it cures sufficiently.

      This sealant will cure to a depth of 1/8 inch in 24 hours at 77°F (25°C) and 50 percent relative humidity.

    4. Testing

      Test before using. May discolor brass and copper.
