Best Practices for Elantas (Altana) RN-1520
-
Mixing
Pour mixed system into molds, preheated to 80°-100°C, that have been coated with CONAP® MR-5002 mold release or equivalent.
Automatic metering and mixing equipment can be used with this system.
-
Deairing/Degassing
Heat pre-weighed amounts of the CONATHANE® RN-1520 to 80°-100°C and degas at 1-5 mm of vacuum for at least 5 minutes or until excessive bubbling stops. Containers should be unlined metal, plastic, or glass and should be large enough to allow for foaming during degassing.
When adding MbOCA to RN-1520, the MbOCA must be melted at 120°C prior to mixing. After adding curative, mix thoroughly and degas at 1-5 mm for 1 to 2 minutes.
