Best Practices for Elantas (Altana) RN-1559
-
Mixing
Pour mixed system into molds, preheated to 80-100°C that have been coated with CONAP® MR-5002 or equivalent, mold releases.
Automatic metering and mixing equipment can be used with these systems
-
Deairing/Degassing
Heat pre-weighed amounts of CONATHANE® prepolymer to 80-100°C and degas at 1-5 mm of vacuum for at least 5 minutes, or until excessive bubbling stops. Containers should be unlined metal, plastic, or glass, and should be large enough to allow for foaming during degassing.
When adding MbOCA to CONATHANE®, the MbOCA must be melted at 120°C prior to mixing. After adding curative, mix thoroughly and degas at 1-5 mm for 1 to 2 minutes.
