  • Description for Elantas (Altana) UC-51

    Produces tough polyurethane castings with good flexural modulus, good impact resistance, and the feel of reinforced polypropylene or an engineering thermoplastic. The system is designed for quick mold turnover in either silicone or polyurethane tooling.

    Shelf Life Details Both Part A and Part B components are moisture sensitive. Avoid the use of paper cups and wooden sticks. Unless the contents are used within one day, we recommend flushing with dry nitrogen or CONAP® DRI-PURGE each time the containers are closed., The shelf life of CONATHANE® UC-51, Part A and Part B, is 18 months from date of manufacture when stored in their original, unopened containers at 65°-85°F.

    1. Mixing

      Mix the Part B to ensure uniform distribution of the filler.

      Mix the two-components together thoroughly at the 1:1 volumetric ratio at 25ºC.

    2. Deairing/Degassing

      Degassing each component before mixing reduces the potential formation of air bubbles in the cast part.
