Best Practices for Henkel UV7138
-
Surface Preparation
Surfaces should be clean, dry and grease free before applying the adhesive. Particular care should be taken to remove silicone based cleaning agents which may have been used previously to clean glass.
-
Application
The adhesive can be applied direct from the bottle onto the parts to be bonded/sealed. However where high volumes are involved or precision application is required then automated dispensing equipment may be appropriate. Care should be taken not to trap air within the joint where the appearance of the finished article is important
-
Curing
Lightly clamp the parts together, ensuring the adhesive spreads to cover the entire bond area, and expose the joint to the Ultra Violet light for the appropriate time. Do not disturb the joint until the adhesive has cured.
