  • Best Practices for Elantas (Altana) Conathane TU-401 w/ TU-901

    *See Terms of Use Below

    1. Surface Preparation

When curing TU-901 at 80°C or above, the recommended primer is CONAP® AD-1147 or AD-1147-C.

It is important that all dirt, grease, and oil be removed from surfaces prior to applying the primers.

    2. Application

Pour mixed material into molds or fixtures in a manner to avoid trapping air bubbles or pockets, and cure as recommended. Porous molds should be properly sealed prior to using. Contact Cytec's customer service department or your Regional Sales Manager for assistance.

If parts are to be demolded, a quality CONAP® mold release should be applied prior to pouring.

    3. Mixing

Mix the TU-401 Part A and TU-901 Part B in the ratio specified above until homogeneous. Components may be preheated up to 60°C if reduced viscosity is required. If hand mixing, degas at >27 in. Hg vacuum before use.

    4. Clean-Up

Equipment may be cleaned with Methyl Ethyl Ketone or other hydrocarbon solvents.
