Shelf Life Details Storage and Handling: CONAP® UC-23, Parts A and B, have a shelf life of 18-months from date of manufacture when stored in their original unopened containers. While UC-23 is not moisture sensitive and does not require blanketing with nitrogen (see CONAP® Dri-Purge), it is suggested that opened containers be closed when not in use. Best Practices for Elantas (Altana) UC-23
-
Application
UC-23 has very good adhesion to most substrates and generally will not require the use of a primer. If adhesion improvement is necessary, contact Cytec Industries Inc. for specific recommendations. If the cast part is to be demolded after cure, apply Cytec mold release agents prior to casting. Castings can generally be demolded in 2-4 hours at room temperature.
-
Mixing
Thoroughly mix the two components together at the recommended ratio at 25°C stirring carefully to prevent entrapment of air.
-
Deairing/Degassing
If this is done carefully, degassing of the mixed material may not be necessary. If air entrapment is excessive, degas the mixture for 3-5 minutes at 1-5 mm of vacuum.
