Best Practices for 3M 05821
-
Application
Sand properly cleaned surfaces with grade 80 - 180 abrasive, (Putty will adhere to sand scratches as fine as 320) Blow off with clean compressed air to remove all sanding dust.
Mix applicable amount of putty with 2% hardener by weight (or one stripe across a 4" puddle of putty).
Mix to a uniform color on a clean non porous surface spreading thin and pressing air bubbles out as you mix.
Apply a "tight" coat pressing putty into defect areas and recoat if needed building slightly higher than the surrounding area.
Allow 15 minutes cure time and sand with 150-320 grit abrasive to desired shape. For best results the finish sanded material should not exceed 1/16 inch.
