Best Practices for Elantas (Altana) MR-5014
-
Surface Preparation
Thoroughly clean the mold with bead blast media, solvent and/or high pH detergent (or other means) to remove all traces of prior release agents and dirt build-up. Although CONAP® MR-5014 will work well on dirty tool, starting with a clean tool will provide the best results.
-
Application
For best results, the tool should be above 180°F. Spraying is preferred over wiping the mold release onto the tool and will result in a more even coating. For spraying, use light spray atomization, applying three (3) light coats from different directions, allowing the film to dry between coats.
-
Mixing
CONAP® MR-5014 should be mixed prior to use.
