Shelf Life Details For optimum storage 3M™ Scotch-Seal™ Metal Sealant 2084 should be stored at 60-80°F (15-26°C). Higher temperatures reduce normal storage life. Lower temperatures cause increased viscosity of a temporary nature. Rotate stock on a “first in-first out” basis. When stored at recommended temperature in original, unopened containter, this product has a shelf life of 15 months from the date 3M ships the product.

  • Best Practices for 3M Metal Sealant 2084

    *See Terms of Use Below

    1. Surface Preparation

Best results are obtained on clean, dry surface. Oil, grease and other contaminants may be removed by wiping with a solvent such as 3MTM Scotch-GripTM Solvent No. 3.*

*Note: When using solvents for clean-up, extinguish all ignition sources and follow manufacturer’s precautions and directions for use when handling such materials.

    2. Application

Production dispensing is best achieved with pressure-flow equipment. Hand caulking guns may also be used.

    3. Clean-Up

Equipment and excess sealer may be cleaned with solvent such as Scotch-Grip Solvent No. 3 or methyl ethyl ketone.*

*Note: When using solvents for clean-up, extinguish all ignition sources and follow manufacturer’s precautions and directions for use when handling such materials.
